The Senate of Virginia is committed to providing a work environment free from intimidation or coercion in any form. Workplace harassment, including sexual harassment, is a form of intimidation and coercion. Further, workplace harassment is an unlawful employment practice that could subject the Senate of Virginia, the Commonwealth, and/or the individuals who conduct or condone such behavior to liability. The Senate of Virginia intends to avoid such liability by prohibiting any form of workplace harassment and by requiring that all employees and members refrain from conduct that could give rise to such allegations. Pursuant to Chapter 13.1 of Title 30 of the Code of Virginia, employees and elected officials of the Senate are required to complete a sexual harassment training course provided by the Office of the Clerk of the Senate within the first 90-days of employment, and again at least every two calendar years. In order to register the completion of your training requirement, please follow these instructions:
1. Launch the online training course. It will take approximately 30 minutes to complete, from beginning to end. Please ensure your speakers are working, or use headphones for the audio portion.
2. Use the "Sign in" button and enter your State Agency provided Google username and password (e.g. jdoe@senate.virginia.gov).
3. Press the red "play" button in the viewing window to start the first slide. Click through each slide on the left navigation pane, until you complete the training. Once a slide begins, you may not fast forward or rewind, but you may replay any slide already completed.
4. Once you have completed the training, the button at the bottom will become available to "Claim Certificate". Use this to view and print your completion certificate. A record of your completion will be stored, for verification purposes by the Clerk of the Senate.
